Volunteer at the 2026 Ontario 55+ Winter Games in Huntsville!

Be part of something unforgettable in Muskoka! From February 3–5, 2026, the Town of Huntsville will proudly host the Ontario 55+ Winter Games, and we’ll be looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring this celebration of sport and community to life.

Whether you love winter sports, enjoy working with people, or simply want to give back, there will be a role for you. Volunteers are the heart of the Games, and your energy, skills, and hospitality will create an incredible experience for participants and visitors alike.

Orientation

Volunteers must attend ONE orientation session (approximately 1.5 hours in length). At the session you will meet your leader, pick up your volunteer shirt and hat/scarf and learn more about your volunteer position. More details, including how to RSVP, will be shared soon. 

  • Sunday, January 18th, 1:00pm to 3:00pm – Active Living Centre (Summit centre)

  • Tuesday, January 27th, 7:00pm to 9:00pm – Active Living Centre (Summit centre)

Volunteer Opportunities

Over 200 volunteers will be needed across Huntsville to support the Games. Roles will include:

  • General Volunteer (Any Task) – Support wherever needed to keep the Games running smoothly.

  • Administration Volunteer – Assist with office tasks, communications, and scheduling.

  • Food Services Volunteer – Help with meals, snacks, and hospitality for participants and guests.

  • Games Organizing Committee Support – Provide assistance to planning teams and managers.

  • Logistics & Venue Operations Volunteer – Set up and manage venues before, during, and after events.

  • Medical Volunteer – Support first aid and medical teams (for certified individuals).

  • Opening Ceremony & Special Event Volunteer – Help with ceremonies, medal presentations, and entertainment events.

  • Registration & Accreditation Volunteer – Welcome participants and distribute badges and kits.

  • Security & Safety Volunteer – Provide directions, manage crowd flow, and assist with safety.

  • Sport Operations Volunteer – Work directly with officials and athletes at competition venues.

  • Transportation Volunteer – Support shuttle operations and assist participants with travel needs.

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help make the Huntsville 2026 Ontario 55+ Winter Games a success! Join us in welcoming over 1,000 athletes, coaches, and visitors from across Ontario this February.

2. Complete all required fields, including your preferred volunteer roles and availability.
3. Click Submit, and you’re officially registered!

 

Once your form is received, our team will follow up with more information about orientation and assignments as the Games approach.

2026 Volunteer Registration Form

The personal information on this form is collected under the authority of Section 11 of the Municipal Act, 2001. The information will be used for determining your eligibility for a volunteer placement and for administering and managing the Huntsville 2026 Ontario 55+ Winter Games volunteer programs. Before you apply to become a volunteer and Games ambassador it is important that you know the following:


  • Training for all volunteers is also mandatory and depending on the type of position which you are assigned, your attendance at a minimum of one pre Games training sessions will be required (actual dates/locations of training sessions to be provided at a later date)

  • All volunteers will be required to work a minimum of one 4-hour shift. Refreshments will be readily available in all volunteer lounges and formal meals will be provided in alignment with shift length.

  • Volunteer appreciation party will be February 11th



It is at a training session that you will:


  • Be given your official Games accreditation.

  • Be provided your Games information package, volunteer schedule and whatever apparel/equipment you will require
